Dermaplaning

Treat dull skin, dry skin, sun damaged skin, fine wrinkles, and acne scars.

Dermaplaning is a non-surgical and non-invasive skin treatment removing hair and 21 day old dead skin cells from the face, leaving it smooth and radiant.

What is the Treatment?

Dermaplaning is a non-surgical and non-invasive skin treatment that is performed using an exfoliating 10-gauge blade, which removes hair and 21 day old dead skin cells from the face. The treatment treats dull skin, dry skin, sun damaged skin, fine wrinkles, and acne scars. It leaves the skin smooth and radiant. Dermaplaning is not recommended for people with hypersensitive skin or those with severe rosacea.

How Does It Work?

The therapist performs the treatment using an exfoliating blade, placed at a 45-degree angle, and drags it across the skin to remove velous hair (peach fuzz) scar tissue, dead cells, and other debris from the skin.

Treatment Time

Most dermaplaning sessions take 30 to 40 minutes.

Treatment Cost

Dermaplaning treatments cost £59

What to Expect

Your therapist will ask you for your medical history, skin complexion, and skin type. People with an active acne flare up will need to reschedule their appointment to prevent the treatment from irritating their skin more or damaging their skin’s surface. Before the treatment, avoid direct sun exposure one week before your appointment, as sun damage can make the treatment painful.

The therapist will double cleanse your face, then will use a manual or dermaplaning device to scrap across your skin at a 45-degree angle. After the treatment is complete a hyaluronic mask will be placed over the face for hydration, as well as a serum and moisturiser to soothe your skin before leaving.

Down Time

There is no recovery time involved with dermaplaning treatment. You may experience slight redness or feel your skin is sensitive after the treatment, this shouldn’t last long.

Aftercare Advice

After the treatment, you will only experience some redness, but that will disappear very quickly.

Aftercare tips include:

  • Avoid direct sunlight (sun exposure can reverse the effects of the treatment or create pigment blotches on your skin)

  • Wear sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher before going outside

  • Avoid putting on makeup for 24 hours

  • Apply a moisturising cream or hyaluronic acid mask to repair your skin and keep it hydrated
